Vanished US envoy 'found dead'

A senior diplomat at the US embassy in Cyprus who went missing four days ago has reportedly been discovered dead.

The body of defence attache Tom Mooney, who vanished on Thursday, was found in a remote part of the Mediterranean island, according to state radio.

Mr Mooney was discovered near Nicosia and police were at the scene, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation said.

The 45-year-old, who is married with children, was last seen leaving the US embassy in his Chevrolet Saloon car.
