http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/england/hereford/worcs/6260172.stm Version 0 of 1. Forensic experts are expected to begin searching for the body of a man missing for more than 50 years. Derek Saville was 25 years old when he disappeared on 7 December 1954 after leaving his girlfriend's house in Canon Pyon, Herefordshire. A witness has come forward with new information, saying he had seen his father digging what appeared to be a makeshift grave in a nearby field. Officers are to search the field near the village on Monday. Mr Saville's disappearance was one of the highest profile inquiries of its time. There was speculation he had been threatened and intimidated by a man on the day he disappeared. The new information came from a man living in Australia. His father, who he says he saw digging with other men, is now dead. |
