A Royal Marine whose parents live in Neuk Crescent and who has just returned from service in Afghanistan, supplied BBC Scotland with stills and video footage of the police operation.
The pictures were taken through blinds and show armed officers surrounding the house across the road at about 0430 (BST) on Sunday.
He said the two men who lived in the house moved in several months ago and that other people in the street described them as "very secretive".
They were "young guys", one of whom had an English accent.
