The latest attack, near the southern city of Khan Younis, targeted the house of a Hamas militant, killing him and two others. The latest Israeli incursion near the southern city of Khan Younis began before dawn.
Israel said the raid targeted armed men who were planning to approach the border fence. More than a dozen tanks and bulldozers, backed up by helicopters and unmanned aircraft, pushed about a kilometre (0.6 mile) deep into the territory.
