A man has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder after a shooting in which a two-year-old boy was hurt.

The toddler was injured when shots were fired at a truck he was playing in with his brother in Miles Platting, Manchester, on Friday 11 August.

Greater Manchester Police said shards of glass hit the boy after the gunfire, which was meant to hit a nearby house.

Leon Critchley, 31, of Tewkesbury Road, Miles Platting, has been charged in connection with the incident.

He appeared before magistrates in Manchester and was remanded in custody pending further enquiries.
