Gaza hit by Israeli air strikes

At least three Palestinians have been injured in the Gaza Strip by Israeli air strikes on houses in a refugee camp and in Gaza City itself, witnesses say.

Occupants were reportedly told by the Israelis to leave a house in the Jabaliya camp before the attack but three people nearby were hurt.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt when a second air strike hit a house in Gaza City.

Israel's military said both buildings were "weapons storage facilities".

The Israelis have been conducting operations against targets in the Gaza Strip for nearly two months.

The campaign was sparked by the capture of an Israeli soldier by militants on 25 June.

Relatives of an al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades militant in Jabaliya said he had been given a warning from the Israelis about 15 minutes before the attack, the Associated Press reports.

The relatives said they were told to remain out of the area because more attacks were possible.

In Gaza City, a two-storey home was heavily damaged.

Security officials quoted by AP said one missile fired at the home did not explode and a bomb squad was called in to dismantle it.
