North Wales Police said the 32-year-old was killed on the east face of Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley, Gwynedd, at around 1900BST on Saturday. | |
It is thought the man was coming down the mountain with his wife, when they became disorientated in the cloud and he slipped and fell. | |
The couple are understood to be from Oxfordshire, while the man's parents are thought to live in north Wales. | |
An RAF helicopter and local mountain rescue teams co-ordinated the recovery of the body. Police said an inquiry into the incident was under way. | |
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, who were in the area on a rescue training weekend, were carrying out an investigation to establish exactly what happened. |
