An RAF helicopter and local mountain rescue teams co-ordinated the recovery of the body and also guided the rest of the dead man's party to safety. It is thought the man was coming down the mountain with his wife, when they became disorientated in the cloud and he slipped and fell.
Police said an inquiry into the incident was under way. The couple are understood to be from Oxfordshire, while the man's parents are thought to live in north Wales.
