Pair escape from city house fire

A man and a woman have escaped from a fire at a house in Londonderry.

Firefighters were called to the property at Jasmine Court in the Gobnascale area of the city shortly before 2000 BST on Wednesday.

It is understood the man sustained injuries to his arm.

A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Service said that there was no smoke alarm fitted in the house.
