Man falls from tanker in channel

Rescue services are searching the Bristol Channel after reports a man has fallen overboard from a tanker.

It is believed the missing man, a foreign national, fell from the Swedish chemical tanker, the Bro Joinville, on Tuesday.

Two RAF helicopters and a Nimrod plane were scrambled to search the area.

The rescue operation is being co-ordinated by Swansea Coastguard which looks after 300 miles of coast within the Bristol channel.
