The gardai have set up checkpoints around a County Donegal town following a row between more than 20 young people on the beach.

Buses going into Buncrana will also be searched in a clampdown on underage drinking.

On Saturday, about 12 young people from the town got involved in a row with others visiting the beach for the day.

Gardai said no arrests had been made, but a number of people were identified and they will be pursuing the matter.

They also intend to patrol beaches in the area.
