Version 0 of 1.

A woman's Christmas charity donation of almost £1,700 has been stolen during a mugging in a Hampshire street.

The 44-year-old was on Oakmount Road, Chandlers Ford, on Friday when a man snatched an envelope containing the cash, along with a mobile phone.

The man was chased by the woman and members of the public towards the train station but disappeared from view.

The victim was unhurt but upset as her family had collected for a charity helping the disadvantaged at Christmas.

The attacker was described as white, slim and aged between 30 and 50.

Police appealed for witnesses and warned people to avoid carrying large amounts of cash with them.
