Tom McNeill, 58, died in 2002 following exposure to asbestos while working for Harland and Wolff from 1959 until 1964. His widow, Adrianne and two sons were awarded £375,000 to settle their compensation claim which Harland and Wolff originally denied liability for. | |
Mrs McNeill said her husband's life had been cut short, but hailed the payout as "a victory". | |
