City boss held after girl injured | |

A businessman has been sectioned after his two-year-old daughter was found at his family home with life-threatening head injuries. | |
Alberto Izaga an executive of insurance firm Swiss Re, was arrested when the girl was found at his flat in central London's Albert Embankment on Sunday. | |
Scotland Yard said Mr Izaga, 36, who was in custody, has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act. | |
A police spokesman said the girl's condition remained critical. | |
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police's child abuse investigation team are probing the incident. | |

Mr Izaga was arrested shortly after 0830 BST. | |
The girl, who has not been named, was taken to nearby St Thomas's Hospital where her condition is described as life-threatening. | |
The apartment is being examined by forensic experts and has been cordoned off. | |

He is described as the company's head of Life and Health Products. In July last year he was elected to the board of industry body the Association of British Insurers. | |
A company spokesman said: "Swiss Re is deeply saddened by the tragedy involving the family of Alberto Izaga. Our thoughts are with the family." | |
Mr Izaga, who is married with one daughter, works in London's landmark "Gherkin" building. | |
He began his career at the headquarters of General Electric in 1998, where he became vice president of business development. |
