When everyone has finished the different races, each city's average time will be calculated and the winner will be declared. The eventual winner of the 10km race was Glasgow.
The starter's pistol for the Liverpool race will be fired by actor Ricky Tomlinson, perhaps best known for his role as Jim Royle in the BBC TV comedy The Royle Family. The Merseyside run started in Liverpool and headed across to New Brighton in Wirral, through the Kingsway Tunnel.
