I think this incident should have never happened. If the SPPF Government believes in freedom of speech/press why ban another radio station owned by a political party? Action should be taken against the ones responsible for the attack on the Leader of the Opposition. C Savy, Seychelles
The bill was intended to ban radio/TV stations run by political parties or religious groups and not private entities or any other group apart from these two specific.Nigel Confiance, Seychelles, Mahe
I am angry the way the Forces acted. The fact that SPPF proved to have nothing to hide. If they don't, why didn't they agree on having an independent media service? We need to know more on what is happening in our country, since the existing media service is keen on hiding the truth, we will continue to protest till our voices are heard.Frank Fercho, Victoria, Seychelles
The western powers should put pressure on the Seychelles government to allow private radio station. Can we say that the Seychelles is a democratic country when the SPPF government have a tight grip on the SBC which is the mouthpiece of the SPPF?Jonathan Marie, Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles
The protestors may not have been armed as such, but they did start to throw rocks. I think people should be allowed to protest but such gatherings tend to attract people who are just interested in causing as much mayhem as possible.Anon, Victoria, Seychelles
The bill was not restricting private radio station ownership but political and religious radio station ownership, which I believe is the case in most if not all Commonwealth countries the UK included. Marie-Antoinette Rose, Seychelles
This incident happened and the police did what they had to to keep the peace and protect others. It's not a fact that the protesters were not armed: they were throwing stones at nearby government buildings. Julia, Bel Ombre Mahe, Seychelles
