Amazon plane 'black boxes' found

The two data recorders of a plane which crashed in the Amazon on Friday killing all 155 on board have been found.

The plane is believed to have gone down after a mid-air collision with an executive jet which then landed safely.

Investigators hope the "black boxes" will help them understand how the two clipped each other, despite carrying the latest anti-collision systems.

Military personnel continue to search the crash site for victims of Brazil's worst air disaster.

Search efforts have been hampered by the remoteness of the crash site and the dense rainforest.

The first rescuers on the scene had to abseil down from helicopters and then clear an area for the vehicles to land.

The Boeing 737, operated by Brazilian airline Gol, was flying from Manaus to the capital, Brasilia.

The budget airline has expanded rapidly since it was established in 2001 to become Brazil's number two carrier.

Gol says the plane involved was new, having come into service this month.
