An 11-year-old girl who went missing after popping out to buy some chips has been spotted on CCTV in the company of an unknown man.
An 11-year-old girl who was missing for more than 24 hours after popping out to buy some chips has been found safe and well, police have said.
Paige Hayhoe was seen walking with an older man at about 2245 BST on Sunday in Mill Road, Cambridge, about two miles from her home.
The girl, from Cambridge, appeared at the home of a relative, a police spokeswoman said.
Det Insp Kevin Vanterpool said: "She is walking in the company of a young male, aged anywhere between 15 and 25.
The youngster vanished from her home at about 1600 BST on Sunday and police began a major search.
"She is an independent girl but is close to her family."
Closed circuit television showed her walking through the centre of Cambridge with a youth late on Monday night.
He added: "She doesn't have a current boyfriend as far as we are aware. Paige left her home in Eastfield Road, Cambridge just after 1600 BST on Sunday."
The police spokeswoman said officers were now trying to establish where the girl had been and why.
She is believed to have been with friends in the Scotland Road recreation ground in Cambridge at about 1940 BST.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police added: "She looked comfortable with the man in the CCTV images and not distressed in any way.

"We think that she may know him from the way she is behaving."
Cambridgeshire police are now trying to work out where Paige was between 1940 and 2245 BST and they are carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
They are also appealing for anyone who may have seen her to contact them urgently.
Det Insp Vanterpool added: "There is no cause for us to be concerned that she has come to any harm at this stage."
Paige, who is a pupil in Year Seven at St Bede's School in Cambridge, is described as white, 5ft 2in, of slim build with brown eyes and fair hair in a ponytail.
She was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded top, white flip flops and was carrying a pink handbag.
Her parents, Steven and Michaela, have not made any comment, but are said to be deeply concerned.
