Court orders recount after mix-up

A number of ballot papers were not counted in the poll in the Crowland and Deeping St Nicholas Ward on South Holland District Council. Boston County Court ordered the recount which will be held later. If the result affects which councillors would have been elected they will need to mount a high court action to get the original result changed. The three candidates elected on 3 May were independent Bryan Alcock with 373 votes and two Conservatives, Paul Przyszlak (360) and Jim Astill (338). Mr Astill took the seat by only one vote from another Conservative, Angela Harrison. Julian Davis, an independent candidate, lost out by 82 votes. |
