A man has been arrested after scaling the security fence into the secure area outside the Prime Minister's residence in Downing Street. A knifeman has been arrested after scaling the fence into the secure area outside the Prime Minister's residence in Downing Street.
The intruder was spotted on Sunday night at the back of the central London property where Tony Blair lives with his wife Cherie and four children. Tony Blair was at the property when the intruder was spotted at the back of Number 10 on Sunday night but police said he was not "at risk".
There was a brief struggle before he was arrested and taken into custody. The intruder was challenged and arrested after a brief struggle, when the knife was discovered.
