Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty shared a red carpet embrace with Danielle Lloyd at the premiere of her new film - but there was no sign of Jade Goody. Lloyd, 23, was vilified after ganging up on Shetty with Goody and Jo O'Meara on Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother. Shetty admitted the race row helped her career: "It made me a stronger person, and a more famous person of course." The actress added she was proud her film, Life In A... Metro, was making its debut in London's Leicester Square. Shetty said: "This is the first-ever Leicester Square premiere for an Indian movie. It's something that I once dreamed of but never imagined would happen." She said of the film, which features a collection of tales about life and relationships in Mumbai: "Audiences are ready and looking for something different, for interesting cinema." 'Really excited' Shetty wore a colourful Indian outfit to the central London event, while Lloyd opted for an Eric black dress which was slit to the thigh, revealing a little too much when she tried to untangle it from under her heel. Lloyd said: "Shilpa invited me here. I've come to support her. "It's my first Bollywood movie and I'm really excited." The model and former Miss England said fans outside had given her a warm reception, despite her reputation taking a knock after she appeared on the Channel 4 reality show. "Everyone has been fantastic. Everyone has been really supportive," she said. Since winning Celebrity Big Brother in January, Shetty has met the Queen, been offered a part in a musical, is bringing out her own perfume and has been inundated with a string of offers for commercials, modelling work and book deals. Meanwhile, Goody has split with her agent while O'Meara has stayed out of the media spotlight. |
