Driver, 18, 'serious' after crash

An 18-year-old motorist is in a serious condition in hospital after a road crash on a motorway in Cardiff.

The man's green BMW was involved in a collision on the eastbound on-slip road at the A48(M) Eastern Avenue, Llanederyn early on Monday.

South Wales Police said no other vehicles were involved but they have appealed for witnesses to contact the road policing unit on 029 20 222111.

The man is being treated at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.
