Teenager shot running from club

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg as he ran away from gunfire outside a club in south Manchester.

The boy was standing on Westwood Street in Moss Side just after midnight when he heard shots and began to run - but was hit in the shin.

Greater Manchester Police were alerted to the incident after being called to the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

A force spokeswoman said the boy, who suffered minor injuries, was discharged on Sunday morning.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the shooting is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police.
