A teenager who threatened to bomb a Samaritans office in Aberdeen while inundating the helpline with 28,000 calls has been placed on probation. Jade Heanan, 18, of Ellon, Aberdeenshire, had earlier admitted making the calls over several months. Heanan's family blamed depression about bullying at school for the phone calls. Sentence had been deferred at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for her to be of good behaviour. She was placed on probation for 18 months on Wednesday. Heanan called the Samaritans saying she was going to commit suicide or harm herself. On one occasion she was put through to a branch in England. Heanan told a worker that she was going to bomb the Aberdeen branch and set fire to it, put bricks through the windows, damage the cars of volunteers and assault them. |
