Murder inquiry after death of boy | |

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a four-year-old boy in Devon. | |
He was found at a house in Mincinglake Road, Exeter, late on Sunday night and was pronounced dead later at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E). | |
Police were called to the house after receiving reports that a 44-year-old woman had been stabbed. Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening. | |
The boy is due to be formally identified on Tuesday. | |
'Terribly sad' | |
Scenes of crime officers have been gathering evidence at the house on Monday. | |
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said the results of a forensic post mortem examination were not expected to be released until Wednesday. | |
Family friend Wendy Morgan said: "It's terribly sad. We can't believe it because this is a very quiet neighbourhood. | |
"It's really a shock to everybody." |
