Boy hit in eye with ball bearing

A 15-year-old boy has been hit in the eye with what is believed to have been a ball bearing on the outskirts of south Belfast, police have said.

He was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident, which happened in Dunmurry on Wednesday.

It happened in the Gardenmore Road area at about 1835 BST and police in Lisburn have appealed for witnesses.

They have asked anyone in the area at the time who saw anything suspicious to contact them.
