Teens in court over stab murder

Fourteen-year-old Paul died from a stab wound to the heart in Leytonstone, east London, on 6 April. Theo Diah, 18, and five other teenagers, aged 13, 15, 17 and two 14-year-olds, all from east London, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. They are also accused of the attempted murder and GBH of Paul's 15-year-old friend who was also stabbed. Bail application The six, who were all arrested and charged in the past few weeks, spoke only to confirm their names during a brief hearing. All appeared in the dock apart from one of the 14-year-old defendants, who sat in the main court area with his mother. An application for bail was made on behalf of Mr Diah but was refused by Judge Richard Hone QC. No trial date was set but all six will appear again at the Old Bailey on 13 June. |
