Murder charge on road crash body | |

A man has been remanded in custody, charged with the murder of his partner, whose body was found after reports of a road crash. | |
Call centre worker Jenna Watkins, 21, from Neath, was found dead on the Bwlch mountain road between Cimla and Baglan early on Saturday. | |
Jason Shaddick, 27, also from Neath, appeared before the town's magistrates. | |
Police said they trying to find more information about the couple and the events leading to Ms Watkins'death. | |
Mr Shaddick was remanded in custody, to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 30 April. | |
Officers said a post mortem examination showed Ms Watkins had received injuries to her body. | |
Det Ch Insp Stuart McKenzie, who is leading the investigation, said:"We are continuing to investigate the death of Jenna and although a man has been charged we need to building up a picture of what happened on the Bwlch mountain road during the early hours of Saturday." | |

Police said that the couple had spent time on Friday evening with friends at an address in Southdown Road on the Sandfields estate, Port Talbot. | |
During the evening police said there were reports of a disturbance in Southdown Road which officers want more information about. | |
Detectives also want to hear from anyone who witnessed the road traffic collision on Bwlch Road or who may have seen a man walking from there along an area known as Danygraig Steps towards the Fairlyland area. | |
Meanwhile, the family of Ms Watkins, who worked in Swansea, paid tribute to her as a "precious, beautiful and fun-loving daughter". | |
The family appealed for anybody with information to help both the police and them "at this devastating time". |
