Woman dies in fire at city flats | |

The body of a 67-year-old woman has been found after five people were taken to hospital when a fire broke out at flats in the east end of Glasgow. | |
Three women and two men were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. | |
A spokesman for Strathclyde Police Fire and Rescue said the blaze broke out in a ground floor flat in the Parkhead area just before 2100 BST on Friday. | |
Investigations into the cause of the fire were getting under way. | |
The fire broke out in the ground floor, trapping people on the storeys above in Sorby Street. | |
Some were rescued by ladder, others led to safety and five were taken to hospital for checks. | |
Strathclyde Police said there were no suspicous circumstances. | |
The identiy of the dead woman has not yet been released. |
