Armed gang strike at supermarket

An armed robbery by a gang of masked raiders has taken place at a supermarket in Greater Manchester.

Three men with sawn off shotguns attacked security guards as they were delivering cash to Sainsbury's in Fallowfield on Thursday afternoon.

A security guard was hit over the head before the raiders made off in a Silver Golf with two money boxes.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward or to contact Crimestoppers.

The gang struck at about 1440 BST.
