Police are searching for two men after reports of two separate shootings in Bangor, Gwynedd.

A woman suffered slight facial and arm injuries after being shot with what is thought to be an air gun at a Post Office on Caernarfon Road at 1630 BST.

Later, police received unconfirmed reports a man had been shot with an air weapon in Siliwen Road, but he is not thought to have been seriously injured.

Officers are keeping an "open mind" as to whether the incidents are linked.

Armed police were called to the post office and a force helicopter was continuing a search on Tuesday evening for two men who left the area on foot.

The area around Caernarfon Road had been cordoned off.

A spokesperson for Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor confirmed a woman had been shot and she was being x-rayed. She was described as being "comfortable and stable".

One of the men being sought is thought to be in his early twenties and approximately 5ft 4" (162cm) tall. He was wearing sun glasses and said to have the beginning of a moustache, and short black hair.

The second man is said to be approximately 5ft 10" (178cm) tall with mousy hair, a very bad complexion, and wearing red clothing.
