Version 0 of 1.

Two youths, aged 17, have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in east London.

A 19-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital after he was shot in the head in Harold Road, Plaistow, on 9 April.

Police believe the victim was with two other men when a car pulled up and opened fire at about 1920 BST.

Detectives will be in Plaistow between 1800 and 2100 BST handing out witness appeal leaflets.

As yet, there is no description of suspects involved or the car used in the attack. Police are keeping an open mind on the motive.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw the incident to come forward," said Det Supt Paul Chapman.

"This was a drive-by shooting and we would like to speak to anyone who saw a vehicle speeding from the area towards Green Street."

A 14-year-old was shot in the neck in another drive-by shooting in nearby Barking Road on 12 April.

There is nothing to suggest the two incidents are connected, a police spokesman said.
