Six-months-pregnant Nicky Heys, 35, and her fiance Neal Agar, from Essex, were dining out the night before, when she began having stomach pains. In the early hours of the next morning, she was taken to hospital and gave birth to 1lb 12oz baby Harry. A few hours later, she left to attend her wedding at St Luke's church in Brislington and went on the reception. Hair appointment The new Mrs Agar's mother, Lin Heys, 60, said: "She told the nurses she was due to be married at 4pm. "The doctors checked Nicky and she left the hospital to keep a hair appointment at 11am. "At the church, the vicar announced she'd had the baby and the congregation clapped. "And when we got to the reception, all the wedding speeches had to be changed. My husband had to cross out the bit that said 'proud grandfather-to-be'." Mrs Agar grew up in Bristol, but now lives in Saffron Walden, Essex, with 33-year-old Neil, who is a flight-deck technician at Stansted Airport. The couple have cancelled their two-week honeymoon in the Maldives to spend time with their newborn son. Mrs Agar, who is now back in St Michael's hospital, and baby Harry are said to be doing well. |
