A man has died in an accident at the Dargan Road landfill site in north Belfast. A man has died in an accident at Belfast City Council's landfill site at Dargan Road in the north of the city.
It is understood he was dumping rubbish for a private contractor when it happened. The Health and Safety Executive is now investigating. The alarm was raised shortly after 1500 BST. Police, fire and rescue service and an ambulance were called to the site on the shores of Belfast Lough.
The man, whose name has not been released, is understood to have been dumping rubbish for a private contractor when the incident occurred.
It is believed the man was trapped under rubble.
The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation.

The dead man's name has not yet been released.
