A 24-year-old armed robber who escaped from a prison van after staff were threatened by two masked men with a gun is still on the run. Police searching for an armed robber who escaped from a prison van in Worcestershire have found a car believed to have been used in the raid.
Craig Hickinbottom, who was being taken to Blakenhurst Prison, Worcestershire, and the other two, remain at large after attempts to find them overnight. The silver Audi A3 was found at Blue Rock Place, Oldbury in the West Midlands on Wednesday afternoon.
The raid happened as Craig Hickinbottom was being transferred from a Redditch court to Blakenhurst Prison.
Detectives have warned people not to approach the 24-year-old from Bromsgrove as he is dangerous.

He has criminal and family connections in the West Midlands, police said. Masked men stopped his security van in Hewell Lane, Redditch, on Wednesday afternoon and threatened security staff with a handgun.
The car was found later the same day and is undergoing forensic tests.

But they dismissed speculation that the fugitive had links to high-profile Birmingham-based drugs gangs. Det Chf Insp Kevin Purcell said: "Clearly Hickinbottom and the men who assisted in his escape had taken time to plan and organise this but we are keeping an open mind as to how this occurred."

"With that in mind we've obviously alerted Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Police."
The prison van was forced to a halt by an Audi shortly after 1300 BST, and Hickinbottom was released in Hewell Lane.
