Three hours later, a second rider died after a collision with a car at Cefn Bridge, east of the town. Three hours later at 1900 BST on Easter Sunday, a 46-year-old rider from Newport died in a collision with a car at Cefn Bridge, east of the town.
In a separate incident, police said several people had been injured in an accident at an off-road centre at Cwm Derw farm near Rhayader on Sunday. Witnesses to this crash are asked to contact PC Waring at Newtown police station on 0845 3302000.
