A new sports store has opened in north Belfast bringing 70 new jobs to the area.

Sportsworld, which opened a new outlet at the Yorkgate complex, already employs 150 people across Northern Ireland.

Spokesman Keith Marriot said they also hope to open more premises this year and in 2008.

"We will want to expand more - possibly another one this year and also two more next year," he said.

"We are creating 70 jobs plus - it's a two-floor shop and it's probably £1.5m to set the shop up and get it running.

"It's going to be good for the community."
