Girl remanded over sister's death

A 14-year-old girl from Halifax in West Yorkshire has appeared in court charged with the murder of her older sister.

The 16-year-old victim was found with serious injuries at a house in the Ovenden area of the town on Monday night and died later in hospital.

Her younger sister also suffered wounds and was taken to a police station after hospital treatment.

She was remanded into the care of a local authority when she appeared at Bradford Youth Court on Thursday.
