Pensioner faces cocaine charges

A pensioner has been detained by police in Edinburgh after officers intercepted cocaine worth £30,000.

The drugs were found after the 66-year-old man was stopped during an Operation Foil search in the Gorgie area of the city on Tuesday night.

Officers from Lothian and Borders Police also seized £600 in cash during the operation which took place at about 2025 BST.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on drugs offences.
