The body of Christopher Derek Foulkes, 39, was found inside the property at Rhyl, Denbighshire, on 8 March. Police initially thought he had fallen, but a spokeswoman said a second post mortem examination confirmed "death was caused by blunt trauma to the head and abdomen. He had not been stabbed." The teenager is due to appear before Prestatyn magistrates on Thursday. Six days after the discovery of Mr Foulkes' body, police received fresh information, and a second post mortem was conducted by Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers. The teenager was arrested on Monday, but police did not reveal any details of the arrest until Wednesday. Officers had been granted a warrant of further detention by Llandudno magistrates. Mr Foulkes was living at a flat in Brighton Road, Rhyl. A statement by his mother Valerie Foulkes, issued through police, said: "Christopher was a kind and loving son who was popular amongst family and friends. "He enjoyed socialising and listening to music and it's been a great shock to his family. "He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends." An inquest was opened and adjourned on 9 March by the coroner for north east Wales, John Hughes. |
