Boy escapes injury in shooting

An 11-year-old boy has escaped injury after two shots were fired at his bedroom window in County Antrim.

The shots were fired at the boy's window and at the front door of the house on the Old Ballybracken Road, Doagh, Newtownabbey at about 0200 BST.

Two adults who were also in the house at the time of the shooting also escaped without injury.

A police spokesman said detectives did not believe there was a sectarian motive for the shooting.
