It broke out in a first floor flat at the Russell Court complex on the Lisburn Road at about 2300 BST on Sunday. They had been overcome by smoke fumes and were unconscious when fire crews rescued them from a first floor flat at the Russell Court complex.
About 30 other people were evacuated from the flats as fire crews worked to put out the blaze. The fire may have been caused by a frying pan. The fire broke out at the flats on the Lisburn Road at about 2300 BST on Sunday.
The man and woman were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation. About 30 other people were evacuated from the flats as fire crews worked to put out the blaze.
Gabriel Ferguson from the Fire and Rescue Service said the man and woman were saved because they had a smoke alarm.
"They found a man and a woman lying semi-conscious on the living room floor," he said.
"The crews brought the people to safety and treated them at the scene until the arrival of the paramedics."
