Man killed after crash with lorry Two die in Highlands road crash

A man has died after the car he was driving was involved in an accident with a lorry in Angus. Two people have died after a road accident in the Highlands.
The crash happened at 0615 GMT on the B978, north of the village of Kellas, near Dundee. Two vehicles collided at about 1800 GMT on the A9 Inverness-Perth road, just north of its junction with the B889 Dalwhinnie road.
Tayside Police said investigations were taking place at the scene and the road was closed for a time. A Northern Constabulary statement said: "Two persons - one male and one female - are confirmed as deceased as a result of this accident.
The details of the dead man are not being released until relatives have been informed. Police appealed for any witnesses to contact them. "Other persons are currently being treated as necessary." The A9 has been closed to allow police investigations.
