Canoeists airlifted in sea rescue

A man and a 12-year-old boy have been airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulty canoeing on the coast.

Three more were taken by lifeboat to Harwich after the incident which happened close to the mouth of the River Deben near Felixstowe in Suffolk.

Two lifeboats from Harwich took part in the rescue on Sunday afternoon along with Felixstowe coastguard and the Wattisham helicopter.

The pair were taken to Ipswich Hospital suffering form hypothermia.
