Murder probe into mother's death

Cleveland Police have begun a murder investigation after a mother-of-three was found stabbed to death.

The body of Jillian Froom, 35, was found on Friday by one of her three sons, in the living room of her home in Burnsall Road, Middlesbrough.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Saturday revealed Ms Froom, who is mother to three sons aged eight, 10 and 16, had suffered stab wounds.

A 38-year-old man arrested on Friday, continues to be questioned by officers.

Detective Inspector Stan Drummond, who is leading a team of 30 murder squad officers, said: "The family are absolutely devastated by what has happened.

"They are still trying to come to terms with it."

He said forensics officers would be at the murder scene for some time.
