Shot victim's condition 'serious'

A man is in a serious condition in hospital in Dundalk following a shooting incident at an off-licence in the town.

Gardai said a man entered the premises and fired a shot at another man just before 2200 GMT on Saturday.

The gunman then fled the scene on foot. The injured man was taken to Louth County Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Gardai in Dundalk have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
