Gang abducts and assaults victim

A man has been assaulted by a gang of men in Lisburn in County Antrim, police have said.

He was outside a bar in Bridge Street at about 0030 GMT on Saturday when four men forced him into a car.

They drove him to the Lagan Tow path and assaulted him, causing injuries to his face and leg.

Police are still investigating a motive for the attack and said there was a large number of witnesses in the Bridge Street area at the time.
