A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a father in Aberdeen. A 32-year-old Ayrshire man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police said on Sunday that a man from Ayrshire had been taken into custody. He is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday. Stephen Rankin, of Darvel, Ayrshire, appeared in private at AberdeenSheriff Court accused of murder.
It is thought that father-of two Mr Mair's body may have lain undiscovered for some weeks. He made no plea or declaration to the charge and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear in the same court again next week.
