A man accused of being part of a gang which attacked a disabled child and his father has been refused bail at the High Court in Belfast.

Terence Stokes, 29, from Glendale Gardens in Londonderry is charged with attempted murder.

He is accused of being among the people who attacked Brian Mongan with knives and bats in his Dunmurry home last Wednesday.

The court was told the incident was part of a feud between two families.

Mr Mongan was left bruised, bleeding and needing 18 stitches to the back of his head after the incident.

Mr Stokes also faces charges aggravated burglary and criminal damage.

His defence lawyer said the accused denied having anything to do with the attack.
