A 19-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a great-grandfather in Cardiff. A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a pensioner.
Leonard Baldwin, 76, died in hospital on Saturday evening after suffering a serious head injury. Osman Alyas, 19, from the Riverside area of Cardiff, is charged with unlawfully killing Leonard Baldwin, 76.

South Wales Police charged the 19-year-old on Monday evening and he is due to appear before city magistrates later on Tuesday. Cardiff magistrates remanded Mr Alyas into custody until 2 October, when he is due to appear before crown court.
Officers carried out house-to-house inquiries in the Riverside area following the pensioner's death.
Mr Baldwin had nine children and 63 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Police have appealed for anyone who was in the Neville Street area between 1700 BST and 1830 BST on Saturday to contact them.
