A murder inquiry has begun after a driver was found dead in a car that had collided with a tree. Four people have been arrested after a man was found dead in a car that collided with a tree.
The man's death was not caused by the crash on Wednesday evening, in Reading, Berkshire, police said. Three men, aged 23, 27 and 42, and a 44-year-old woman are being held at Reading police station in connection with the murder.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the man, understood to have been aged in his mid-30s, was "definitely not" shot dead before the car crashed. Police launched an investigation following the car crash on Wednesday evening, in Reading, Berkshire.
Traffic was being diverted away from the scene of the incident, at the junction of London and Kendrick roads. They said the victim, in his mid 30s, was dead before the collision, but had not been shot.

On its website, the force said: "The death is not believed to have been caused by the collision and that is why officers are treating it as murder." Officers are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are keen to speak to people who were around London Road, Kendrick Road and Cemetery Junction between 1900 and 2030 GMT on Wednesday.
